This summer, I tore ligaments in my ankle playing requetball. I ended up in a bandage and aircast brace and on crutches for several weeks. Due to all of this, I couldn't wear a regular shoe on my injured foot. My wife and I discovered these sandals in a local store and I found that I could wear them with the bandage and brace. I ended up buying the "gray" (brown) ones as they matched the hiker I was wearing that day. I found that it also went with a brown dress shoe and a brown topsider that I had. The slide was very comfortable, all things considered, and provided some protection to my injured foot, especially if I had to put it on the ground. I also liked seeing my injured foot dressed in a shoe instead of just being bare. Also, the padded strap held it securely on my foot while I was crutching. Since they happened to be on sale, I went back and picked up the black ones to wear with black dress shoes and a black athletic shoe. I ended up wearing every day to work, and whenever I went out someplace while my ankle healed up. I even wore the black one to a wedding and reception with a black dress shoe on my good foot. It was surprising how many people noticed and made comments on them, particularly ladies. My wife repeatedly said that she thought the sandal looked nice on my bandaged foot!
