When it comes to sandals I only Buy REEF!
my first pair of Reefs I bought was in my teenage years when my flip flops busted in Florida. That pair lasted me 10 years! Now I am not sure if it was the ginger or not. This is the most similar to my original ones. On the straps the little diamond shape was in white thread. I loved that pair so much! I am on the spectrum and hate my feet covered in hot weather. On day long adventures these carried me through! I will never buy any other type of flip flop!

Why the change?
As others reviewers have lamented, the footbed material has changed drastically on the once-perfect gingers. The new foam is stiffer and less cushy. Such a disappointment.

Lasted me 11yrs
I bought these when I was 18 and I'm 29 now, I've taken these hiking through the Redwoods park and other national state parks. While my husband has replaced his sandals from old navy 3 times now because the straps break, mine look a bit tattered (to be expected) but still nice like if I bought them not that long ago. They even were indestructible when my dog
chewed on them. Some minor marks but still decent condition.
Love them!

Ginger Style Changed
Like so many people, I'm very sad and disappointed about the changes to the Reef Ginger. It was my all time favorite flipflop that I've been buying and wearing for more than 10 years. A few years ago I learned The company had been bought and had implemented changes to the ginger flip-flop (I assume others as well). I called customer service who confirmed they were sold and they did change many things about the Ginger. I used to be a size 10, but it fit like a 9, but was still so wide! I tried the 11s and it was overly wide, with cheap straps and crappy foam. I really wish reef would listen to the customers who used to be so faithful. I'm sad to see that even after a few years of customers telling them their ginger is crap, they still haven't listened and brought back the quality from before
