I normally buy platform or thicker soled sandals because they tend to be more supportive and comfortable and I'm short and they give me a couple inches but I discovered these and the arch support is amazing and they fit my feet so perfectly I can walk long distances in them and not feel unstable. Thin flip-flops tend to make me nervous or not be comfortable because they feel like they're going to break or fall off and they're not very supportive. I happen to have high arches also . These feel like they were made for my feet. I've never bought a second pair in a different color so fast of a shoe before! I'm a half size and have shorter toes so I size down but depending on the shape of your foot if you are in a half size go by what you normally do as far as sizing in sandals. I personally don't like extra room and my feet don't tend to hang over so the sizing down worked for me.

Probably should have thought this through. I am in and out of water through out the day for work, sometimes a lot sometimes a little. My foot is sliding around in the shoe so not safe.
