It's Sunny Somewhere
We are built for the first step far from the rules. We are built for comfort and freedom.
We partnered with four queer artists who embody the spirit of the beach and asked them to design a towel that expresses what “the beach loves all” means to them. Throughout the month of pride and beyond, every towel you purchase affects change - we're donating 100% of the proceeds from this collection to PFLAG, a leader in LGBTQ+ rights & activism.
We asked Joey (he/him/his), “What does the beach/water mean to you as an artist?” He said, “In one word -everything.”
Joey makes sustainable paintings from secondhand materials & reinvests 50% of his proceeds towards renewable energy. As a Santa Barbara-local, and longboarder himself, he is inspired by nature & especially his time spent in the ocean.

SHOP THE TOWELHeather (she/her/hers) explains that art to her is about the exploration process, she finds the process is something that is very searching. The colors in her beach towel are very influenced by the water and the sun.

Shop the Towel“The sea is a host to many creatures and is always changing. But the impact of one thing, always affects another. Many species live in symbiosis- often working together to survive as co-inhabitants. We could learn a lot more from what the sea has to offer…”
Sean’s (he/him/his) design is largely influenced by film and the design diversity on his towel, the from marine animals, to the people and topography all remind him of classic California and of course his home, Hawaii.

SHOP THE TOWEL“Unbroken unity is what I’m trying to drive with the design.”
Carol (she/her/hers) has nothing but love and respect for our oceans. She is constantly inspired by the ocean, its wild nature that is home to millions of plants, animals and us as surfers.

SHOP THE TOWELPFLAG National is leading the charge in fighting for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people through support, education, and advocacy. Families and allies are called into the conversation in order to inspire the full affirmation of LGBTQ+ people in all aspects of life.
At Reef, we want to make an impact as an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. We understand that it’s not enough to simply talk the talk, but that we must walk the walk. We’re taking this step quite literally by developing a line of footwear that not only celebrates, but tangibly gives back to the LGBTQ+ community.
We are excited to celebrate Pride 2021 alongside PFLAG National as corporate sponsors and envision a day where the pure freedom and love we feel on the beach follows anyone and everyone, everywhere they go.
