In 1984, two Argentinean brothers, Santiago and Fernando Aguerre came together and designed REEF’s first-ever flip flop to channel the uniqueness and originality that was missing in the footwear market.
The result? A sandal that captured the spirit of the surf lifestyle through a perfect blend of product design and consumer engagement – the Original Stripe sandal.
And now, we’re bringing it back. The debut of REEF’s Heritage collection this month brings along the return of the iconic Original Stripe sandal. Available in an array of new colors, the revamped sandal looks much like the original 80’s version. But, of course as REEF is always innovating – there are some new improvements. In an effort to further REEF’s eco-friendly initiative, the straps on these sandals are made of 100% recycled P.E.T derived from post-consumer plastic bottles because #motherearth.
