Born and raised in Laguna Beach, the home of skimboarding, I grew up playing in shore break that was much better for skimboarding than it was for surfing. I started skimming at the age of 4, and began competing and riding professionally at age 15. I was a pretty solid student throughout high school, and managed to combine my love for the ocean with my school extracurriculars, by founding a club that partnered with Waves for Water. At the time, Rob Machado was an ambassador, and inspired me to get involved with fundraising for the purchasing and delivery of water filtration systems for communities in need in Angola.

Miraculously, I later got into UC Berkeley, where naturally I continued to pursue my love for the beach and ocean by studying environmental science. While studying rigorously at Berkeley, I still managed to spend every opportunity I had at the few breaks that were closest by. Since the skim waves are few and far between up there, I spent a majority of my time surfing, and had to improve pretty quickly since Ocean Beach was now my backyard.

Meanwhile, I continued to compete on the World Skim Tour. Improving at surfing definitely helped my skimboarding, and I won three consecutive world tours, which I am lucky enough to still hold the title for. In 2019, I was also selected as the Stab High wildcard for the first ever wave pool contest in Waco, Texas. I decided to compete on a soft top board, competed against many of the free surfers I grew up idolizing, and ended up taking 8th. Currently, I live in Laguna and still play in the shore break on the daily.
