Meet Santa Barbara-based artist, Joey Tran.

We asked Joey, “What does the
beach/water mean to you as an artist?” He said, “In one word -everything.”

Joey makes sustainable paintings from secondhand materials & reinvests 50%
of his proceeds towards renewable energy. As a Santa Barbara-local, and
longboarder himself, he is inspired by nature & especially his time spent
in the ocean.

Meet Heather, Bay Area-based artist.

Heather explains that art to her is about the exploration
process, she finds the process is something that is very searching. The colors
in her beach towel are very influenced by the water and the sun.

Meet Sean, San Diego-based artist.

“The sea is a host to many creatures and is always changing.
But the impact of one thing, always affects another. Many species live in
symbiosis- often working together to survive as co-inhabitants. We could learn
a lot more from what the sea has to offer…”

Sean’s design is largely influenced by film and the design diversity on his
towel, the from marine animals, to the people and topography all remind him of
classic California and of course his home, Hawaii.

Meet Carol, LA-based artist.

“Unbroken unity is what I’m trying to drive with the
design.”

Carol has nothing but love and respect for our oceans. She is constantly
inspired by the ocean, its wild nature that is home to millions of plants, animals
and us as surfers.
