After nearly 5 years off the WCT tour Ben Bourgeois is ready for another a crack at the 2008 WCT season. Ben put on a blistering display of surfing in Japan where he finished runner up to Gabe Kling in the 6* WQS Billabong Tahara Pro.
Alongside fellow Reef apparel rider from Oz, was Jay "Bottle" Thompson who currently sits 2nd on the WQS ranking with 10,825pts. Ben moved into 4th place on the WQS ranking with 10,376pts. The two Reef apparel athletes are certain for a spot alongside Bobby Martinez moving into the 08 WCT season.
The WQS season is past the half way point, but still with major 6*WQS events still to come in Europe, Brazil and ending in Hawaii with the "Triple Crown of Surfing" where Reef will stage the first event the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haliewa beach on the North Shore.
Whispers from the ASP say you will need 10,000 points to qualify for the 2008 WCT tour. With Benny B and Bottle already notching up a point tally well over the 10,000 mark be sure to keep your fingers crossed come early December that they remain in the top 16 of the WQS.
