The 2011 North Shore of Hawaii season is here and Reef Redemption is proud to announce a new partnership with the North Shore Community Land Trust (NSCLT). The North Shore of Oahu is considered by many as the 7 Mile Miracle and the NSCLT along with its hundreds of volunteers work diligently to protect this "sacred" land. Reef has offered a financial donation to the cause of $10,000 as well as additional proceeds from the sale of specific Hawaii Redemptive products. About the North Shore Community Land Trust:

The mission of the North Shore Community Land Trust (NSCLT) is to protect, steward, and enhance the natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and rural character of ahupua‘a from Kahuku Point to Ka‘ena.
NSCLT acts to protect one of our most precious and threatened natural resources:  the spectacular lands of the North Shore of Oahu.
Since our founding, we have been involved in saving thousands of acres of coveted open space - forested hillsides and coastal farms, naupaka-shaded beaches and coconut groves, grassy meadows and wind-swept vistas– in one of the world's most desirable and expensive coastal real estate markets.
NSCLT's unique and effective approach to land protection taps the power of both private and public sectors. Using funds from private donors, we move quickly to help purchase critical open spaces as opportunities arise. Private dollars also enable us to leverage matching funds from state and federal agencies to secure the the North Shore's precious natural legacy.
Applying this successful formula, NSCLT is protecting one of the world's last remaining accessible wild coastlines near a major metropolitan area. Our Campaign for Pupukea Paumalu attracted support from people who love the North Shore’s singular open spaces. We helped raise over $8 million to secure permanent protection of 1,129 precious coastal acres. By saving these types of lands from development as private estates and subdivisions, we ensure their survival as wildlife habitat, public recreation areas, farms and ranches, and places that enrich and restore the human spirit – now and for future generations.

What is the Reef Redemption Program?
The Reef Redemption™ Program is the Reef brand’s commitment to employing what we believe to be environmentally conscious and socially responsible business practices. This initiative is comprised of three components:
Product Series
This is the launch of a Reef product revolution! The mission is to incorporate renewable, recycled and/or organic materials, wherever reasonably possible to produce unique Reef product without sacrificing fit, quality, comfort or style. We believe it is the responsibility of every company to make strides toward creating less waste and improving their process. The Reef Redemption™ Product Series is the Reef brand’s first step in the revolution.
Culture of Giving
As a part of our efforts toward stewardship, Reef has created a fund in support of environmental and humanitarian groups working to preserve our waves, beaches and the surrounding communities. One percent of the sales of Reef Redemption™ Product will be donated by Reef to this fund. Reef employees are participating in regular beach clean ups and are always looking for ways to give more back to the community through outreach and volunteer programs.
In-House Efforts
The final step is a Reef-wide effort to reduce our energy and material usage. We have employed some great environmental strategies in our new global headquarters and are constantly striving to improve our business practices.
