Hi, I'm Tia Blanco and I'm 16 years old. I was raised the daughter of a Coast Guardsman, so traveling is second nature to me. I grew up in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and California. I learned to surf when I was three years old at the famous Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu. Surfing was in my heritage, but I didn’t start to surf competitively until I was about 12 years old. So far I've won two NSSA State Championships, and I rank number 6 in the world for ISA in my division. I’m a member of the Surfing America team, but I also enjoy painting and practicing yoga, while living a vegan lifestyle. My goals include an NSSA National Championship and Junior Pro event win, as well as a World Title. My ultimate goal is to travel the world, and in the near future make the ASP Women’s World Tour.
