Growing up on the coast of Santa Barbara, CA, Conner Coffin has always had a love for the ocean. He credits his father, who had him in the Pacific from kindergarten, with his early passion for surfing.
And since that tender age, there hasn’t been much slowing Conner down. With access to some of the most well-known surf spots on the California Coast, it’s been all positive for Coffin, as he continues to make his name known in the international scene.
Conner’s smooth, clean, and powerful style are a testament to the point breaks he grew up on. Among his list of future goals is an aspiration to surf like Dane Reynolds. But whereas his hero is content to do a handful of events each year, Conner aims to qualify for the ASP World Tour. And, it seems as though Conner is well on his way to making this goal reality.
By the age of 14 Coffin had already won the Gold Coast Explorer Boys Conference Championship, as well as being the NSSA Open Boys National Champion. In 2012, he clinched the US Open Junior Pro, which he cites as his greatest accomplishment to date, and finished ranked second among the ASP North America’s Junior Men.
Conner gravitates toward contests not only because of his competitive nature, but because he feels they push his surfing. But when push comes to shove Conner is all about enjoying the sport that he loves.
