JUST PASSING THROUGH MEETS NEVER STOP EXPLORING // FESTIVAL ADVENTURE

The North Face and Reef put a twist on festival season this year. We teamed up with Reef Ambassadors Mike Lay and Victoria Vergara, and North Face Ambassadors Cedar Wright and Emily Harrington last week and turned our festival weekend into a week long adventure of surfing, camping, rock climbing, and desert dance parties. Two different worlds with a shared passion for Just Passing Through and exploring new places, trying new things, and sometimes getting schooled whether it’s on the ropes or the dance floor. From the beach to the desert, and the road trip shenanigans along the way, Cedar Wright made sure to catch every moment worth watching. Check it out below, along with words by Mike Lay, and photo diary by Reef Adventure Seeker Logan Rauhut.

“Both surfing and rock climbing are pursuits in which isolation is often sought. Whilst shared experience is valued, participation on a mass scale at the same spot can be destructive. When we travel it is in search of new experience, of adventure, of discovery, normally to do what we do far from the madding crowd. But sometimes that travel can lead to more populous locations, in search of adventure of a different kind. For me the coolest thing about our journey to Coachella was the meeting of kindred spirits from completely different yet very similar activities and the recognition of parallels between our two worlds. The festival itself was a blast, a marathon of music and good vibes, an immersion in the popular culture which sometimes leaves us behind. While being thoroughly enjoyable, Coachella was also a confirmation that we are following the right paths in pursuing the sports that we do, there's nothing like a dose of dense, wild humanity to remind you of the beauty of quietness and nature.” - Mike Lay
